Vintage 9k Gold Guard Chain with Swivel Clip & T-Bar

A rather exceptional vintage 9k gold guard chain, featuring beautifully articulated links, a traditional swivel dog clip and a classic gold T-bar. All the character of antique jewellery, with an attitude that feels entirely contemporary.
Originally worn to secure watches and other treasured possessions, guard chains were designed to be as practical as they were decorative. We think they've aged rather well. Particularly now that nobody expects us to carry a pocket watch.
At a substantial 21.2 grams, this is a proper piece of old gold. The distinctive 3.3mm links have a wonderfully tactile quality, while the swivel clip and T-bar add just the right amount of utilitarian charm.
Wear it long, layer it with other chains, or add your favourite collection of vintage charms. We particularly like the idea of mixing its traditional detailing with something entirely unexpected.
